OK confession here. Mimes wig me out. I was asked to draw a mime cartoon yesterday and I was in a bad mood all afternoon about it. Lucky for me it came out pretty well. Must be the cute bird I put in there. I would draw a bird any day!

Your own personal Jesus

New art that will run this Sunday in the News & Record for a story about if Jesus was alive today, what would he be doing? I worked from a Byzantine icon of Jesus and added a modern take with clothes and a hammer. All done in illustrator except for the gold leaf I added in photoshop. Not my normal style but I think it works well for the story.

Winner N.C. Press Association awards

I'm happy to be part of a great group of folks at the News & Record who went to the N.C. Press Awards last night in Chapel Hill. I won in the graphics and illustration categories this year.
